I have always loved the subtleties of language – how the clever combination of a few words can trigger a reaction or evoke an emotion. Reading and writing have consequently always been an instrumental part of my personal and professional life. 

After completing my studies, I began my career as a marketing copywriter, where I could indulge my creative side. Over the years, I gradually made a shift to more technical editing and plain language writing – and that is where I found my niche. Making complex concepts, processes, products or research findings more understandable and accessible is what drives me and makes me feel that I can contribute to a better world by empowering people with clear information. 

Overall, I have almost 20 years' experience in writing, editing and proofreading across a wide range of industries (financial services, healthcare, technology and property development – to name a few) and content types (from business content to academic papers to marketing material). This level of exposure and diversity has taught me that crafting and refining impactful content is both an art and a science. And for me, it is a passion and a privilege. 

I currently live in Cape Town, South Africa, but work remotely with clients based anywhere.
