Rates
I charge by the hour.
A different hourly rate applies to:
- Editing and proofreading
- Writing and information design
- Project management (only applicable to large-scale, long-term projects)
I am also open to discussing an alternative costing approach, for example, agreeing on a project fee.
How I quote
Every document and project is unique. To ensure you receive the value and outputs you need at a fair price, I quote on a case-by-case basis, considering:
- The scope of the services required
- The complexity of the content/subject matter
- In the case of editing, the quality of the content received
The process
We will generally follow the steps below. However, the process may vary depending on the scope and nature of your project.
Discuss your needs
Depending on how simple or complex your requirements are, this can either be a simple phone call, an online or in-person meeting, or exchanging a few emails.
We will discuss your ideal outcomes, timelines, and any questions or concerns you may have.
Agree on an approach and costs
Based on our discussion, I will send you an obligation-free cost estimate for your approval or feedback. I may also send a more detailed proposal documenting a suggested approach if applicable.
Once again, the level of detail will be determined by the scope of the project.
Sign terms and start
Once you are satisfied with the cost estimate, we will sign a basic, once-off onboarding agreement to ensure we are both aware of our roles and responsibilities. In some cases, I may ask for a deposit before I start. If a deposit is required, it will be indicated on the cost estimate.
I will then get going with the work according to our agreed timelines.
